An NGO, Mbegir Humanitarian Initiative, highlighted the role of girls’ education in nation building.

The chief executive of the organization, Mrs. Rahab Elisha, said this while launching a literacy awareness campaign for all secondary school girls in Nasarawa State, held at the Government Secondary School Garaku at Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State over the weekend.

Rahab Elisha said the group is a strictly humanitarian organization designed to reach out to society and to teach young girls how to take care of themselves from all forms of abuse and misconduct.

Also speaking, the initiative’s executive director, who is a lecturer at Nasarawa State University in Keffi, Mr. Edia Paul, believed that girls’ education goes beyond enrolling them. at school to make sure they learn and feel safe at school.

Corroborating the idea of ​​Mbegir Humanitarian Initiative, the founder of Gafsal Girl Emancipation and Literacy Foundation based in Keffi, Ms. Hajara Mohammed called on the concerned authority to take the issue of girls’ education seriously by supporting their organizations with tools enabling them to contribute their part to the development of young girls in society.

Government Girl Secondary School students Garaku, Fortunate Elisha and Rachael Luka praised the organizers of the event, saying it would inspire them to reposition themselves to develop a better lifestyle.
