Golden eyed cat looking for a permanent home

Hi Winston! How are you? I am a beautiful 2 year old black cat who has been living at the shelter since April. I am a male and a good size! I was brought in as a wanderer.

I consider myself to be extremely friendly and outgoing. I get along well with older children and should be the only pet in someone’s house, the king of the castle so to speak. I love to have my long beautiful black straight brushed hair, I love to play with wand toys and play mice. Although I am affectionate, I don’t like to be picked up too much.

Just a reminder also to Winston and your readers, that sometimes black cats tend to be overlooked in shelters. We don’t shoot well for websites and newspapers and in our cages, well, sometimes we kind of blend into the background no matter how colorful our personalities are!

Since June is officially Adopt a Shelter Cat month – well, here I am! Please tell your readers to stop by and pay me a visit, I would be more than happy to take the time to say hello. I promise this black cat will only bring someone good luck! Thank you so much. – Love, hunter

Winston says:

Hello Hunter and thanks for writing. What a nice picture ! Please remind us that June is Shelter Cat Adoption Month – what better way to expand your family with a loving companion than by stopping by the shelter and meeting Hunter and all of his friends.

Good luck my friend! – Love, Winston

Paws on the green

Help us celebrate our biggest fundraising event of the year: The Paws on the Green Golf Tournament. The event will take place on Monday August 2 at the Teugega Country Club, 6801 Golf Course Road.

Please get your golf foursomes early. The cost is $ 150 per golfer and you get a day of golf, with lunch – dinner – snacks on the course – entry gifts (golf t-shirt and golf balls) and more.

Sponsors are needed for the tournament. Become a major sponsor or a hole sponsor, this is a great way to promote your business while supporting our shelter. Major sponsors also receive advertising on the Humane Society website and on social media. Call Lynn or Peggy at 315-336-6870 for more information. We are also looking for sponsors to help our shelter and receive publicity for their business at the same time.

Appointments appreciated

Because it is such a busy time of year and in accordance with CDC health and safety guidelines, we ask anyone interested in visiting our shelter to make an appointment first.

This applies to the deposit of animals and for possible meetings and greetings for adoption purposes. The donation can be deposited at any time, without an appointment. In addition, if you happen to drop by without an appointment, we may ask you to be patient and to be patient in your car until we are waiting for the person in front of you.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Cat’s Pride Litter Program

We participate in the Cat’s Pride Liter for Good program – we have received 4000 pounds of cat litter thanks to nominations from the community. This is an ongoing promotion. The more nominations, the more garbage we get.

The litter, as you can imagine, is a big expense for us, so it would be a wonderful saving for our shelter.

The public is invited to participate as follows:

1. Go to catspride.com and join the free Cat’s Pride Club.

2. Click on the “Nominate” button to help us receive waste.

3. Enter the bonus code: 4GOOD and you will double your nomination to the shelter.

4. Buy a green pitcher of Cat’s Pride Fresh and Light – each time you do this another pound of litter is added to the total amount given.
