Fair Housing Resource Center creates new housing program – News-Herald

Fair Housing Resource Center Inc. announced a new housing program to help foster, preserve and inspire homeownership and financial literacy in northeast Ohio.

The program, which is expected to launch on May 18, may provide benefits to potential buyers, current owners and people looking to improve their understanding of the complex world of personal finance, according to a press release.

Program highlights include:

• One-on-one home pre-purchase courses sponsored by the Ohio Finance Agency.

• Advice on preserving home ownership, intended for people who have difficulty honoring their mortgage.

• Homebuyer Education Courses, offered in groups for people looking to learn the ABCs of the home buying process.

• A comprehensive financial literacy course including budget advice and credit advice.

• Financial management training for individuals and families looking to improve their financial capabilities.
