ATI Pittsburgh Offices Move to Strip District After 30 Years at PPG Place

The Pittsburgh offices of ATI will move into a 20,000 square foot office in the Strip District after nearly three decades at PPG Place.

Leaders of the global specialty materials company signed a long-term lease to The Vision of 15a luxury mixed-use development along Smallman Street.

The move is expected to take place this summer

“Our new workplace, with the vibrant energy of the Strip, will reinforce ATI’s drive for innovation,” said Robert Wetherbee, ATI Chairman, President and CEO.

“It’s great to continue our presence in Pittsburgh in a unique and progressive workplace designed for the needs of our team, driving the culture that is important to our future.”

Last week, ATI announced that its headquarters would move to Dallas.

The Vision on 15th is an eight-story building that was built this year and includes 374 covered parking spaces. ATI will occupy space on the third floor and is the first tenant to sign a lease.

ATI’s offices had been at Six PPG Place since the early 1990s.

With the move to The Strip, the company’s enterprise resource center will serve as a hub for key company-wide services, spokeswoman Natalie Gillespie said. There are more than 100 people who work in finance, digital, human resources, internal audit, strategic sourcing and legal departments, among others.

The Vision on 15th space will be designed to meet ATI’s needs, she said. The complex offers stunning views of the city and the Allegheny River and has a number of amenities requested by employees.

Beth Powers, ATI’s human resources director, said employees wanted a contemporary space with ample parking, natural lighting, and access to Route 28 and other highways.

“We conducted extensive research considering these factors,” Powers said. “The atmosphere (of The Vision) will provide the forward-looking, collaborative spirit that our employees want and deserve.”
